Gary Sugarman

Executive ChairmanGary Sugarman, Executive Chairman

Gary Sugarman is Executive Chairman of Veroxity Technology Partners (VTP), taking that position upon the investment in VTP by Bank of America Capital Investors (BACI) in December of 2007. Mr. Sugarman co-invested along with BACI. Prior to that he served as Chairman/CEO of a telecommunications company he co-founded in 1994, Mid Maine Communications (MMC), a facility based telecom company (CLEC-ILEC) in Maine, until it was sold at the end of 2006.
 
Mr. Sugarman is on the Board of TDS, a publicly traded (“TDS”) telecom company with both wireless and wireline assets. He is also is on the Board of LICT Corp (formerly Lynch Interactive), which owns RLEC’s and other telecom assets. Mr. Sugarman remains active in a variety of advisory roles related to telecom and data issues.

Eric Sandman

Chief Executive OfficerEric Sandman, CEO

Eric Sandman is the Chief Executive Officer, as well as a member of the Board of Directors, at Veroxity Technology Partners. Eric joined Veroxity as Chief Financial Officer prior to his promotion to CEO in November of 2008.

A telecommunications industry veteran, Eric was Senior Vice President and CFO of NEON Communication Group, Inc. (formerly Globix Corporation) from January of 2006 until November of 2007, when NEON was acquired by RCN Corporation. Prior to being appointed CFO of NEON, he served in multiple roles with increasing responsibility, including Vice President of Corporate Development and at various times had responsibility for network design, marketing and financial planning and analysis.  Prior to joining NEON in 2000, Eric was employed by Northeast Utilities where he reported to the CFO and worked on M&A and corporate strategy activities.

Eric earned an M.B.A. from Carnegie Mellon University and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maine.

James Capuano

Chief Operating OfficerJames Capuano, COO

Jim is the Chief Operating Officer at Veroxity Technology Partners and is responsible for the day-to-day operations, ensuring the business continues to deliver operational excellence to Veroxity’s high profile customer base.

Prior to joining Veroxity, Jim was the Vice President of Engineering and Operations for RCN Metro Optical Networks, a Division of RCN Corporation. In this role, Mr. Capuano was responsible for the Network Construction, Operations, Engineering, IS/IT, and Carrier Relations organizations. After the acquisition of NEON Communications, he was directly responsible for integrating the organization, network, and information systems. During his tenure he also acted as the Telecom Division’s CTO reporting directly to RCN Corporation’s CEO and was responsible for evaluating new technologies and services. Prior to this, Jim held Operations positions at MCI and Qwest.

Michael Papell

Vice President of SalesMike Papell, VP of Sales

Mike is Veroxity’s Vice President of Sales.  In this role, Mike is responsible for the company’s enterprise and carrier sales efforts, as well as its strategic partnership and business development initiatives. 

Mike developed Veroxity’s sales strategy and market positioning that led to the Company’s successful entry into the enterprise marketplace. Mike was principally responsible for acquiring Veroxity’s Fortune 2000 customers while accelerating its residual revenue stream. Prior to joining Veroxity, Mike held numerous positions in sales, management & business development roles at technology & ecommerce companies including Schafer Corporation, where he reported to the CEO and oversaw the company’s first commercial business venture, Infoscitex and Strong Numbers (purchased by Intuit). 

Mike earned an M.B.A. from Babson College and a B.A. from Binghamton University.

Christopher E. Dalton

General CounselChristopher Dalton, General Counsel

Mr. Dalton is General Counsel, Vice President and Assistant Secretary at Veroxity Technology Partners.

Mr. Dalton joined Veroxity in January 2009 after earlier representing the company in private practice.  His prior telecommunications industry includes his position as Associate General Counsel to NEON Communications Group, Inc. (Formerly Globix Corporation).  Prior to joining NEON Communications Group, Mr. Dalton worked in the construction and energy industries with positions at Limbach Facility Services, LLC and Enron Energy Services Operations, Inc.  Before pursuing his law degree, Mr. Dalton was a design engineer with Riley Stoker Corporation, now part of Babcock Power, Inc., in the power generation industry.

Mr. Dalton holds a Juris Doctor degree from Vermont Law School and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maine.  He is admitted to practice law before the state courts of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and is a registered professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Christian Williams

Director of Technology

Chris Williams, Director of TechnologyMr. Williams is the Director of Technology at Veroxity. In this role, Chris is responsible for product and market development, network architecture and technical support, evaluating network expansion and providing technical guidance for network deployment.

Prior to joining Veroxity, Chris held various positions at NEON Communications, now RCN Metro Optical Networks, including Senior Manager of Systems Engineering and Network Design Engineer. Additionally, Mr. Williams was a Network Systems Engineer at MCI and a Communications Technician for the Massachusetts Air National Guard.

Chris attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he studied Business Administration and Chemistry.
